high dmg or not it still doesnt mow down huge crowds of npc's as fast as automatics, which is fine.

Why not put a Shred mod on Latron Prime? It will shoot through mobs as if they were nothing, plus it increase the rate of fire.

Don't use it if it bothers you that much, better yet, delete it from your inventory.

What a lot of people don't realize is that these DPS calculators go by if the shot crits everytime.

 

Not saying the Latron is bad, it certainly is a fine weapon, just remember that DPS charts are silly that way.

That's not true at all, not sure why you would even say that when you can double check their math. None of the dps calcs I've ever seen do that. Its a trivial amount of math to add crit damage based off its crit chance.

yup which applies to every other weapon as well including automatics, but in the latrons case its still going to do it all slower than an automatic fitted just the same, unless were on a grineer galleon type map where the npc's just happen to be walking towards up neatly lined up in a narrow corridor to take advantage of that punch through on the latron.

 

shot speed, and time taken to reach that magic dps value thats quoted, its the same reason why bows are ok low/mid lvl range, they work fine, but once your swamped the bows do their work too damned slow, same as snipers and to a much lesser degree the latron, automatics will always be much easier and more forgiving once your swamped by lots of targets.
