Invisible Ancient? Losing Energy At Random?

So I've noticed this a few times now, but tonight I was playing on Jupiter and I got hit by what seemed like the Disruptor Ancient effect where the screen goes crazy and you lose all your energy. I haven't been online in a bit so I don't know if this is some sort of new Corpus attack, but could someone maybe fill me in on what is hitting me? I don't appear to be getting hit when it happens... so I'll assume some sort of new bullet type or something?

 

I figure I'm just being silly and missing something obvious.

There was a Magnetic Eximus in your proximity. They pulse the magnetic proc, which stole your energy. They kinda suck.

Since update 12 there have been new enemies called Leaders (now called Eximus).

They have a variety of abilities including energy drain like what you describe so you probably ran into one of them.

these are aura enemies. They exist in all factions after the update (infested, corpus and grineer). They will take your energy even if you don't touch them. they have certain range up until which their aura is effective. As long as you stay away from it, you will be good. These aura enemies always have a Red or blue outlining to their body.
