Did He Just Do What I Think He Did?

So earlier this morning I got 3 Stalker encounters within a 6 hour timespan (and that is after I got another one the night before that)

 

On one encounter, he teleported behind one of our team members so we tried to shoot him, but we were doing no damage and he's swinging his Hate but not hitting the guy. So I thought that with melee 2.0 released, Stalker can parry gunfire like we do?? We're kinda screwed facing him head-on if that's true...

Enemies seem so parry using stamina like we do, do melee him till he stops then shoot.

Much like Specters, lets see him parry something that is explosive (Penta, Ogris, Torrid), or sticky (Stug, Canastas).  

 

Of course most wouldn't carry these items most of the time so maybe melee and then shoot when he stops blocking?
