# Corrupt Charge Efficiency

## Question

Is it just me or Corrupt Charge is taking 8 energy when I have 100% channel efficiency from Reflex Coil and Focus Energy?

Yeh but if you do the math 100%-40% should be at 60%

Actually I made a mistake channeling efficiency is hard-capped at 80%

Also you don't get the extra as buffer (as far as I know)

So the math should be:

80 - 40 = 40

5*0.60 = 3; so your hits should take 3 energy per hit... which still doesn't answer your question haha.

I dunno perhaps this is a bug

I may be wrong but it may be that corrupt charge applies first and then and the others last.
However it still does not make any sense.

5*1.4= 7*0.8=5.6

By the chance do you have any other mods like Life strike or others which affect channel efficiency?

Nope all I have is corrupt charge. I took it off and I was back to using 1 energy per hit

A shame, really, since I was doing 15k per hit

Found this formula:
Ability cost = (base_ability_cost) * (1 - power_efficiency additively)

80%-40% = 40% = 0.4

5* (1- 0.4) = 3

Either this is a bug or you have other mods which affect energy efficiency.

Also I belive that if you hit multiple enemies it will drain energy for each.

There's some bug with any mod that reduces efficiency which makes it ~3-4x more powerful when not hosting. Friggin client bugs :S

Running a maxxed LS with Focus energy was costing me 25 energy per swing instead of 10, for example.

Sorry for opening this but I found a solution. Apparently you have to slot in Corrupted charge last. Dunno why but I fiddled with it a little and this needs more testing.

What I did was i slotted corrupted charge first then focus energy and reflex coil and the result was -8 energy per hit.

So next test was I slotted in Focus energy and reflex coil then finally corrupted charge and it was -2 energy per hit as intended.

Don't take this seriosuly yet until someone else tests it for me.

Shrug. I tried it both ways and got 2 energy each time. Seems to me its one of those nebulous client bugs thats hard to reproduce.

Did it again as a client and got the higher cost. No matter the position of the mods.
