A great and free tool to work with audio is Audacity. Still use it whenever I need to quickly rework an audio piece. It's pretty easy to learn too. Also, if you'll need to get an audio piece from a video(clip), this is a great and free tool to convert pretty much any video format to audio format. (Can convert audio to audio and video to video as well. For example ogg to MP3 or AVI to MP4, etc...). Freemake Video Converter. Hope this helps.
