Starbridge
So it just hit me about 20 minutes ago that we should have some combo mods. Ammo Drum (More max ammo) Mag Wrap (More ammo in clip) Fast Hands (Reload speed) Speed Trigger (Fire Rate) These are just 4 of the mods that we have right now for rifles. How about adding a few combination mods to the list such as... Heavy Fire (6 ranks total) +5% damage (+7% / +9% / +11% / +13% / +15%) -15% max ammo (-14% / -13% / -12% / -11% / -10%) Continuous Fire (6 ranks total) +10% clip size (+13% / +16% / +19% / +22% / +25%) -25% rate of fire (-24% / -23% / -22% / -21% / -20%) etc. Not every ability should have a combo card, such as multi-shot mods and elemental damage mods. And some new mod suggestions... Accuracy Zoom Recoil Control
OoKeNnEtHoO
Hey, this is actually a pretty good idea. It will need a lot of work and testing though.
x3Darkie
I disagree with the combo mods part. I don't think we need duplicate mods, it would ruin the entire balance thing. For example, Serratation X (165% more damage) + Heavy Fire VI (15% more damage) = 180% more damage. (Defeats the purpose of balancing weapons) And some new mod suggestions... Accuracy Zoom Recoil Control This however is a pretty good suggestion. Edit: Fixed typo. Edited April 27, 2013 by x3Darkie
Starbridge
I can see what you are saying about it not being balanced, but it would be because you would be bringing down your max ammo count. Each combo mod should have a + and a -, thats what makes them balanced. Lets just go into a little math on this shall we... MK-1 Braton ----- Damage: 16 Clip Size: 60 Max Ammo: 400 16 x 60 = 960 damage in one clip 16 x 400 = 6400 damage if every bullet hits (Theoretical) Adding Serratation(Rank 10) 960 x 165% = 2544 damage in one clip 6400 x 165% = 16960 damage if every bullet hits Adding Heavy Fire(Rank 6) + Serratation(Rank 10) 960 x 180% = 2688 damage in one clip 400 - 10% = 360 new max ammo 16 x 360 = 5760 5760 x 180% = 16128 damage if every bullet hits Now, if you look at those numbers. I think that is plenty balanced. More damage per clip, but since your max ammo is being lowered its going to bring your damage down unless you are picking up ammo, and let me tell you. I have dome some maps where I have not found very much ammo and by the end of the mission I was down to a few clips left on a pistol and my melee weapon. Edit: Fixed typo. His post clearly states that there will be disadvantages to using those duplicate mods. In exchange for 15% more damage, you get less max ammo. That basically kills the Gorgon and Grakata (some occasions Braton) in terms of ammo, though I feel the ammo reduction could be harsher. In that way, the balance will still be kept, without truly overpowering weapons. +
neKroMancer
Nothing new, dual mods existed pre7.0. They will come back as rare or higher than rare mod. i think.
