mooser6
This game is a completionist grindfest with some killing things... why would you want to ruin that by re-introducing L cores? Gotta have goals to reach for. If you instantly rank stuff, you'll have nothing to do but kill the same bad guys, over, and over... and over with your OP gear and for what reason? Mak_Gohae
The content in most games are accessible to the majority of the playerbase, not the minority percentile that spend every waking moment grinding and farming. In most loot game the top loot is not something most people have.

BelugaNinja
In most loot game the top loot is not something most people have. Yes, because there's a clear reason we should avoid people ACTUALLY getting what they want. There's a big difference between a LONG experience that is boring and a Short, good and enjoyable experience. Games should only aim to take up a humongous amount of time if they've secured that the large amount of time invested is enjoyable.

Enjoyment is a different discussion than the ability to obtain the max rank at a steady speed or the second you get the item.

If you enjoy slowly maxing a R10 legendary mod; You need help.
Renegade343
If you enjoy slowly maxing a R10 legendary mod; You need help. And why not? It is like building a very detailed model. Slow, but can be enjoyable by some for seeing the progress to the finished product.
Makya
and if you slowly rank stuff up, you'll need to have nothing to do but kill the same bad guys, over, and over...and over with your slowly-increasingly OP gear and for what reason? To get more loot, to increase your rank to kill faster/better to get more loot to increase further.. Warframe doesn't have a endgame, all it has is the journey. If you skip past the journey you'll notice.. there's nothing else there. That's the reason. Once you have everything, have it maxed, have it tricked out.. What is there? You completed the journey. Liminal
It does seem quite excessive. These should be 5-rank-mods that start where the basic ones are maxed. Make them more expensive if it's necessary, but 500+ R5s is insane. Even as a long term objective.
