theMatherson
Specifically just Warframe, PhysX works on every other game I own that uses it. With the option enabled on 64 bit, there are no PhysX particles to be seen in-game. I remember melee weapon channeling produced some, obviously a lot of abilities produced some, and also I remember capturing targets produced a lot, but none are there with the option enabled. I made a ticket a few months ago about PhysX not working for me, and whomever confirmed it was a bug, but it remains unfixed. That was long before I came to the realization that it could be how the game functions on Windows 8.1. I made a thread about it in Players Helping Players subforum, and someone replied having the same issue. I highly doubt it's a issue on our end since I've tried about everything I've found by googling. So I'm assuming 99% of DE still uses Windows 7 which is why this bug has been around for so long, and the players that have upgraded to Windows 8.1 haven't really noticed it's absence in the midst of gameplay. direcyphre
Seems DE has testbeds for everything, so I doubt it's some oversight due to not adapting to Windows 8.1. Lately I have seen some PhysX particle effects suddenly not show (especially capture targets), but nothing consistent to replicate. I'm on Windows 7 64-bit, however, as 9 is already around the corner so 8 can remain in the Vista/ME lineage.
theMatherson
It's still entirely possible that it could of be an oversight. If not, it still doesn't explain why PhysX works for every other game except Warframe.
