Considering a kubrow is, like, 90% fur, I'm not sure how that'd work other than giving them newer skin textures. I supposed updated fur textures would react more realistically to light (actual highlights, shadows, etc.), but they'd still just be cheap-looking 2D textures. Imagine if they pulled a Far Cry 4 though and implemented fur physics, oh the gloriously low framerates...
