Darkest Dungeon

So yeah, been playing this game a bunch, and having fun with it. Reasons you should get it:

-It's like Demon's Souls and a roguelike dungeon crawler had a baby.

-It's turn-based strategy inside a dungeon crawler, if you care about that sort of thing.

-It's hard. The game autosaves often and there are no do-overs. Units die permanently.

-It's got a bit of Lovecraft in it. You have to manage the stress of your units, and if it gets too high, they can reach a breaking point (either giving in and getting a stat penalty the rest of the time you're in the dungeon, or persevering and getting a stat bonus as well as cutting their stress level in half). You can send them off for treatment once back in town. Also the same guy who narrates the Lovecraft audio books also narrated this, so that's neat.

-Unique artstyle. It's sorta looks like a woodburn at times, with how the shadows are done.

Here's some Super Best Friends Play footage of it, if you want to watch first.

Been playing it lately myself. Lovin' it for all the above reasons.

You forgot to include "music fits incredibly well with gameplay", though. Especially the Battle in the Ruins song. Beautiful war drums.

Or how great it feels when someone hits max stress and becomes heroic.
