Giant List Of Ideas And Suggestions

Hi everyone, here I will be posting some ideas that came to me while I was playing Warframe, I will try not to dublicate any other topics, but I cannot guarantee that. So try to be gentle, okay?

1. Combining battle cards to get a mission with multiple assignments. Exterminate all enemies and save the hostage. Or maybe maps that combine multiple enemy factions, Corpus and the Infested fighting for dominance while the Tenno deliver the payload. How cool would that be?

2. Color changer for weapons. You could make your weapons and Warframe very eyepleasing with this feature.

3. Warframe and weapon customization. It would be really helpful if you could actually know what kind of bonuses you get when you customize your gear. DAMAGE - how much damage? Two RADIAL BLINDS - how do they stack? And so on.

4. Warframe specific weapons. This could give more character to already colorful Warframes. Like a a larger Skana only for EXCALIBUR, or a hammer or gauntlets only for RHINO. And not only melee weapon, guns too, like a bow for ASH or a stun gun for TRINITY.

5. Mods from enemies. Even stronger enemies that would drop mods, maybe even give effect of those mods to that enemy, so it would be even stronger.

6. Personalized loot. How about that every player get their own storage containers, it will look silly (when players will be striking air), but it would eliminate mod stealing and running around destroying containers trying to get it before your teammates do.

7. Trading. Or just giving mods as presents to other players, Tenno are bros afterall.

8. More fragile Reinforced Glass. The feature that you can break glass in some rooms is pretty neat, the only thing that bothers me, is that that glass is almost indestructible. It would be better if it breaks in a few shots, that would make the game much more intense.

9. New mission mode. Rush - a time attack assignment where the ship is in self-destruct mode or something, and you have a few minutes to escape it. It would work better if it's a giant long map built from big rooms, with lots of turrets.

10. Flying enemies. For GRINEER and the INFESTED factions, maybe only in large rooms, because it will be silly if a giant GRINEER flies in small rooms.

11. Stamina Bar. It's my opinion, but the stamina bar really breaks the fast flow of the game, Making it longer/restore faster/upgradeable would be much better. Super-human space ninja do not need respite. Faster combat = more fun = more players.

12. Test-driving weapons/Warframes, especially the ones that are only available with Platinum. When you buy something you can use it for one mission, if you don't like it after that no Platinum is taken, only one test drive is available for each weapon/Warframe.

13. Corpus has all the sweet stuff - laser doors, cameras, Moa spawners. What about other Factions?
A blast door with a tiny slit for Grineer, that you need to destroy before proceeding. The catch is that Grineer Marines can attack you while you destroy the door.
Or a depository of heavy weapons, the Grineer Marines take those and become a real threat.
A some sort of poison bomb launcher for the Infested, or a Infested blade that pops out of walls/ground.
More variety is always better, and with such interesting lore that Warframe has it will be a breeze to make something new.

14. Secret rooms in already existing rooms. That appear utterly random, with good/not so good loot inside. It would actually feel that the Tenno is attacking the ship with their own goals.

15. Weapons that are especially useful against specific Factions and are not so useful against others. A some sort of armor-piercing pistol against Grineer that is almost useless against the Infested. Ice Lance against the Infested, that is hardly useful against Corpus. That will actually make different weapons useful for different situations.

16. The new slow Infested are no fun. The old Infested were a real threat because they would swarm the player in a flash, the levels were crazy exciting to play. It was also really original for zombies to be this fast.
The Infested were always the weakest Faction, but the monstrous speed made them a threat, now the Infested levels are just places to get a good amount of experience for the melee weapon with no risk of losing at all.
Please, give them their speed back.

17. Buyable/lootable skins for weapons and Warframes. I am pretty sure that it will be made in the future, but why not test it now? Especially when some weapons (AKLATO, FURIS/AFURIS, SNIPETRON) already have alternative skins, why not use those? The players would gladly pay Platinum/grind for them (myself included) to get more cosmetic variety.
The EMBER Warframe is a good example, as I read some people liked the old skin more, why not have both? Also as buyable with Platinum/lootable.
And why not use old concept art/models that were scrapped in the process for alternative skins for weapons/Warframes? The players are happy with the options to be unique, the devs are happy with Platinum in their pockets, everyone wins.

18. Black Market. A special place that appears from time to time, akin to Alerts, that sells components and Blueprints. But the price is mind numbingly high.
For example: common components (such as FERRITE) - 1000 credits per piece; uncommon components (such as RUBEDO) - 10000 credits per piece, rare components (such as GALLIUM) - 100000 credits per piece.
Every time the merchandise is different, both components and Warframes.
This is the place where players could actually use their credits, if they have too much, also it would lower the frustration from not getting the needed components or Blueprints.

19. Distress Signals. A feature that would let people know that there are someone at a specific level waiting for other players. It would look like this - you click at a location, now you are waiting for players, but other players don't know that, then you press the Distress Signal button, and other players see that a Tenno is in need of cooperation. They team up and have fun. It's okay now, but if there would be more and more planets, there will be less and less possibilities of team ups.

20. Weapon Combinations. How about combining two different pistols/melee weapons to get unique combos? Lex and Furis, Bolto and Bronco. LMB for the left pistol, RMB for the right pistol, no aiming, that is not needed. You could combine and split up at will, while both weapons would have their stats. Like how it is going, every pistol will have an akimbo variant and players will not use the single pistols at all. Give them some love.
As for the melee weapons - combing two Cronuses, two different Daggers, Heat Sword and a Dark Dagger, etc. Think of the possibilities and variants. It would be both fun and people could have unique builds. It would logically not work for the heavy weapons, but two Skanas, not two short ones, but two long ones - beautiful.

21. Planet Bonuses and Boss-Kill Bonuses. What the game now lacks is a bit of life, and that is very easily fixed. Imagine you clear all stages on a planet and get a bonus, something minor, like +10% credits or +5% XP, +20% components, in all missions, the bonus stays until you control all the stages on a planet. But will the Grineer, Corpus or the Infested deal with it? Of course not, they will take back their territories and deny you your bonuses, you take back the stages, and you get back the bonuses. This will add a bit more of life in the Warframe world, that actually the Tenno are waging a war against the other Factions.
As for the Boss-Kill Bonuses. When you slay Vay Hek, Lotus says that it halt the Grineer deployments, why not reflect it? With a temporary (1 day, 5 stages etc.) penalty to all Grineer maps with a -20% (for example) number of Grineer soldiers. When Nef Anyo falls, Lotus says something about Corpus productions, so why not reflect that with a -20% health penalty to all Corpus troops?
This will actually make killing bosses not just farming locations, but will add some tactical possibilities.

22. More Warframe stat variety. How about different Warframes get more or less from mods depending what Warframe is that. Like Rhino getting +10% (for example) to armor mods, but getting -5% to power range mod; like Mag getting +10% to shield capacity, but getting -5% to health mods. This will actually make different Warframes even more different, not just same stats with different skills.
And Warframe passives that are unlocked with levels (5/10/20/30). Like Frost getting immunity to frozen levels, or Ember getting resistance to fire damage; like Ash having a few more seconds before enemies spot him or Trinity being able to revive teammates faster.

23. New mission mode. Death Trap/Escape. The Tenno attacked a ship that was actually a cleverly made trap by their enemies. The point is to escape alive from this trap, it features infinite enemy spawning, that will overrun the players sooner or later, and the only way to win is to escape.

24. New mission mode. Hunt. A bit similar to Capture, but with multiple targets (how many players in a team, that's how many targets there are), and the targets are high-level enemies. Maybe with time limit, so players must split up, coordinate and capture each target themselves.

25. New mission mode. Escort. A bit similar to Mobile Defense, but this time you need to Escort a technician/engineer/mechanic, to a specific place(s) and protect him as he works.

26. Fine-tuning mods. The new card-mod system is rather good, but lacks versatility. You only have 30 mod points (60 if supercharged), and because of this, in specific weapons you will not upgrade specific card-mods, because you will not have enough mod points in the end. I have a proposal, make that each card-mod's level can be lowered and raised at will, if you have that level unlocked, of course. If fine-tuning mods is implemented you will actually have the need to upgrade your card-mods to maximum levels and not have multiple ones, because that's just redundant.

27. Sigils. Warframe abilities are fine and all, but they also lack versatility, it's pretty much love the Warframe or don't use it at all, because it's not viable. So the Sigil system comes in.
Sigils are special lootable/buyable items that change Warframe abilities, two per each ability, one-time use, you can switch between original ability and Sigils one. Let's call them Black and White Sigils.
Let's take Ember for example, lots of people say that she is only good for her assets and is quite useless, I don't agree, but that's just me, so people want to use her and be useful, but dislike her abilities, so here where Sigils come in.
1.Fireball.
a) Black Sigil - Heat Ray - a powerful ray attack that ignores armor and sets enemies ablaze.
b) White Sigil - Flamethrower - hold ability button to unleash an unending torrent of flame, energy is drained until button is pushed.
2. Overheat.
a) Black Sigil - Fire-Forged - Ember covers all her weapons (Long-gun, Pistol, Melee) in flame, those weapons inflict additional fire damage.
b) White Sigil - Warmth - on/off ability, when active, Ember has slight health regeneration in small radius.
3. Fire Blast.
a) Black Sigil - Explosion - a powerful one hit attack that ignites all enemies in an average radius.
b) White Sigil - Inferno - Ember summons a great pillar of flame around her, lasts until button is pressed or energy ends.
4. World on Fire.
a) Black Sigil - Idol of Flame - Ember becomes immune to damage, can't move, attack or cast abilities. All allies in an average radius get fire damage for their weapons, all enemies are constantly damaged with fire damage.
b) White Sigil - Rebirth - after casting if Ember is killed in the next 3/5/7/9 seconds (depending on level of the ability), she will be reborn with full health and inflict massive damage on all enemies around her.

Something like that, but with all Warframes and all abilities, the Sigil System will allow people to have different builds for different Warframes and make the gameplay more and more varied.

28. New mission mode. Last Stand. A variation of Endless Defense, with a twist. A survival mode, a fight against an endless horde of enemies that become stronger and stronger with each minute, but the twist is that players can't use their revives or be revived by other players, when you are down, you are down permanently. All components, mods and credits are kept, even if you are killed. Logically, you can't beat this mode, it's just for fun. A variation of endgame.

29. Weapon placement. There needs to be a feature that allows for melee weapons to be kept in different places. Like Fang for example, it was kept on the back as it appeared, then it was kept on the sides, now it's back on back. There needs to be a choice. Same with some other weapons, like Dual Zoren, they will better look crossed on the back, than they look now. More customization is always good.

30. Chains. Soon there will be new abilities for all/some Warframes. That's cool and all, but that would probably make old abilities obsolete and unused, a sad fate. So my suggestion are Chains. They will work as combos when some abilities are used in specific ways.

For example:

Slash Dash - at the very end of Slash Dash press melee button to attack with the equipped melee weapon for more damage.

Super Jump + Radial Javelin - if Radial Javelin is used in the air after using Super Jump all javelins will hit a small area under Excalibur.

Radial Blind + Slash Dash - when used in succession, Radial Blind will be canceled and Slash Dash will have blinding properties, but not in a radius, but in straight line.

Mind Control + Psychic Bolts - when Psychic Bolts are used on Mind Controlled target, the bolts will circle around it and protect it from harm.

Invisibility + Decoy - if Invisibility is used when targeting Loki's Decoy, the player will lose control of Loki and take control of the Decoy, Decoy can now move, thus baiting enemies in following Decoy.

Overheat + Fire Blast - if Fire Blast used without moving, around Ember appears a lava bubble, similar to Frost's Snow Globe, it can't be shot through from the inside and can be destroyed by enemy fire.

Iron Skin + Rhino Stomp - if Rhino Stomp is used when Iron Skin is active, all enemies in range will be downed, and unable to move, they will be able to shoot and be vulnerable to ground finishers.

Something like this, a not very hard way to add depth to gameplay, while keeping old abilities viable.

31. Enemy Variety. Killing same enemies over and over again is just not fun, but making new enemies takes time, so how can be new enemies made with minimal effort that will add maximum variety?

Easy.

For example, you may remember the old organic Moas, Jackals, Hyenas. Why not return them in a very specific way? The fusion of organics and machine must be difficult, so why not reflect that with that only [30] (for example) and higher Moas are organic, others are the new metallic model? The same with Hyena and Jackal, it will reflect that they are actually stronger than their machine counterpart.

Similar with the Grineer. Heavy Machine Gunners are all females now, and female Grineer are supposed to be stronger, so why not also reflect that with that Heavy Gunners that are lower than [30] are males, the same with Napalm and Bombardier, make them female if they are high-level.

It will add some relief in farming.

32. Level Variety. Playing same levels are not fun either, and new levels become stale after a few play-troughs. How can that be fixed?

Also pretty easy.

Corpus ships with Grineer on them, let's reflect that with broken lockers, opened barrels, giant Grineer flags, Grineer writing on the walls, Grineer propaganda over the speakers.

The same with Grineer Galleons and Asteroids with Corpus on them. Laster turrets, Corpus tech, Lotus on the speakers.

This will add much needed variety without much work.

Also variety can be easily added to the existing levels with ease, make barrels in different places, use old tiles without lightning, mix old tiles with new tiles and all that.

Do not scrap everything, DE, content is what you need.

33. Dynamic Missions. Stalker invasions and mission changes are okay, but not enough. Missions are too rigid, too static. There is a easy way to change that.

Why Ice missions and Fire missions can't occur during the gameplay? It will go like that - you are playing the mission, and then all of a sudden Cryogenic engine malfunctions and the mission becomes Ice mission! This can be connected to the Datamass delivery, or when the Ship Integrity is compromised the mission becomes Fire mission, it will be fun, but it will be not hard to implement.

Or how about random Black Outs, that all lights go out and the rest of the mission is in the dark with flashlights, without destroying the reactor or without the Infested.

34. Abridgers. Warframe, except for Tier III Void and high-wave Defense, is pretty easy, no one will argue about that. So why not add some risks along with some rewards and places to use the new elemental protection mods. Let's call them Abridgers and they will work similar to Artifacts. Some examples.

Cryogenic Crush - the mission is now Ice mission, but the -50% shields are also applies to enemies.

Bombardment - the mission is now Fire mission, fire inflicts more than 50 damage per tick.

Weapon Malfunction - only melee weapons can be used, applies to enemies as well, does not works on bosses.

Toxic Wave - all Ancients are Toxic, all Crawlers are Noxious.

Bare - no shields for Warframes, +25% XP (for example).

Advanced Protection - all enemies have shields, shielded enemies have more, +25% components (for example).

Solo - no Sentinels allowed, +25% mod drops (for example).

Something like this, you risk and you get rewarded, this will make the game more challenging, and thus fun.

UPDATE:

35. Void Keys. Are honestly a pain. It's RNG with RNG sprinkled all over. Grind to get them, and then grind to get what they give. Even buying the Keys with platinum is RNG, you can't be sure what kind of keys you will get. And as we all understand, there will be more Key Tiers and even more Void missions. How do we lessen the pain?

Very simple, we just make they Keys into three Tiers - I, II, III (or more if it's needed), and make players be able to choose the mission themselves. No more Tower I Defense, or Tower II Raid, just Void Key I/II/III that will allow you to choose from Defense/Raid/Extermination. With this the old Keys will not be obsolete and will give more freedom to the players.

36. Assimilation. The elemental defense, knock-down, stagger resist mods are a waste of space and a waste of points. But can be fixed with the addition of Assimilation mechanic.

It works like this - you get 60 Resistance points for every Warframe, you insert those lackluster elemental defense/knock-down/stagger resist mods inside and play the game. With time the Warframe assimilates the mods (removing them/draining them of their points, not important right now) and you get permanent passive bonus/defense out of that mod. Logically you can't use mods like Flow/Focus/Redirection, only situational mods. You can also Assimilate two or more of the same resistance mods for maximum effect. This will also make Warframes more alive and organic, as they adapt to the threats and hazards around them.

37. Conditional Drops. Drop rates for rare materials from bosses are rather bad, and how you need rare resources for almost everything is quite unfair. Buying resources for platinum is a no go, the prices are borderline insane. So how do we fix that for the unlucky people?

Easy, make resources from bosses drop (100%) under specific conditions.

For example:

Phorid (Neurodes) - kill him using only melee weapons, each not melee hit lowers the chance by 10%, stops lowering at 25%.

Sargas Ruk (Orokin Cells) - must be killed under the effect of Bullet Attractor. Without that the drop chance is 25%.

Hyena (Control Modules) - must be killed without using electric damage (because it fries the Control Module), each electric damage lowers the chance by 10%, stops lowering at 25%.

J3-Golem (Neural Sensor) - must be killed by an attack that melts his model - 100% drop chance. Regular drop is 25%.

And so on. It will add some challenge in getting the resources, but at least you could be sure that the boss will not cheat you by dropping Nano Spores.

38. New mission mode. True Defense. The same as regular Defense, but the Pod/Artifact does not regenerate health. 'nufff said.

39. Sounds. Make that players can choose different sounds for their weapons, both guns and melee. For that constant sound changing is just bad taste. This will give players more variety.

4. Warframe specific weapons. This could give more character to already colorful Warframes. Like a a larger Skana only for EXCALIBUR, or a hammer or gauntlets only for RHINO. And not only melee weapon, guns too, like a bow for ASH or a stun gun for TRINITY.

7. Trading. Or just giving mods as presents to other players, Tenno are bros afterall.

Opinions?

P.S. Will be adding other ideas if they come to me.

Really nice idea, i agree with you, before the patch i was playing with Rhino, and the best for him would be a Nodachi, Two axes or Two handed Ax, the gauntlet is good, but a hammer.... i don't know, Rhino isn't a Covenant from Halo.

  • 2 months later...

hello, just signed up yesterday; got Excalibur up to lvl14 here's what id like to add

- I couldnt switch the aim shoulder (side on which your character is on the screen)

- inventory items are to big, -50% size should do it

- also id rather scroll instead of clickin on "next page"

- A "sort" button would be appreciated in the inventory (by level, rarity, quality .. whatever)

- Too many "Back" button abuse, it gets tedious to go click down left everytime, this isnt a mobile phone, im on pc, ESC should be able to close any windows.

- MODS look all the same, a specific item look would be nice depending on what weapons / type it is

ie: uncommon, ice skana mod = green border on light blue skana icon... etc like every other rpg imo

- Rarity and proper name of mod doesnt show in skill tree + panel below (same icon, same color cant differenciate from one another)

- obviously more variety among maps, i know were infiltrating spaceships but common ... i think on saturn orbit there's a variant with infected corpus which is nice, some kind of spores all over the place, thats nice. I'm sure a botanical complex or even planet surface would be doable, and will be appreciated.

- More UI feedback would be a good addition; i.e : the whole surveillance camera stuff isnt very clear. a nice target identification (circle + underlying text) would help to understand where and what the purpose of these.

- a toggle on/off for party panel (lower left on screen) would help if a teammate is in trouble, right now i have to keep Z pressed to read their status ; although always on should be by default imo.

- the pay to level like PS2 isnt what i call F2P... if it was more cosmetics i wouldnt bother but this.. it doesnt feel good.

that's it for now, i know there was more but cant remember for now

Press H to flip the camera from right to left.

This game is the very definition of "free to play" in that it does it remarkably well. You can get ALL gameplay affecting content simply by playing the game.

The problem is actually with some of the platinum prices in store being a little out of line with each other, but the content you can get in game just through play time is very fair.
