mechmoza
Usually a "subscription" in MMO is define as paying a monthly fee in order to maintain an account to play a game. Take Final Fantasy 14 a realm reborn as an example. But do you consider a person who pays money every month to gain boost such as increase exp or increase in-game credit in a free to play MMO as a "subscription"? what are your thoughts? And this is not just referring to warframe but a also to other F2P MMO out there in general. Edited March 7, 2015 by mechmoza

Dalimir
To me, It's only a subscription if: A: It follows a subscription plan set by the developers B: subscribers usually get better access to things than F2Pers (SWTOR, to name one) If it's someone just making monthly payments to up their in game credit, then it's exactly that, not a subscription. Orbister
No, with a subscription, if you don't pay you don't even exist in the game world, paying every month voluntarily is not and should not be considered a subscription. Anyway... what is the purpose of this? would you like Warframe to have a subscription option?
StinkyPygmy
No, because its entirely optional. A subscription is an agreement or contract. The player choosing to buy boosters etc every month is doing so of their own accord and DE has no involvement in the decision. No agreement has been entered into. Llyssa
The only "subscription" is prime access. You pay $50 for a 3-month doubling of credits and affinity, and get some swag as a bonus. After 3 months, they release a new prime access, with the same deal. It functions pretty much like any other game with a "freemium" subscriber package--nothing HUGE, but a definite difference for players that are paying regularly. The cosmetics are a great lure to keep people going at it, but it's a rather predictable $50 every 3 months, and has been for years.

He thinks that is classify as a subscription when a person "pay a monthly fee that allows you to have a better experience with your game via boosts, shortcuts for unlocks, etc." which i think its not a right term to be used.
