arche
Synoid Gammacor or Secura Dual Cestra? Which is better and why?
CommanderNewt
Well, to be honest, it's a matter of preference. SudaCor is good if you like beam weapons, or if you like the original Cestras, go for them.
se05239
I like neither, mostly due to the radial blast thing all Syndicate weapons have going for them.
(PSN)kiddkammakazi
Gynoid Sammacor is still viable regardless of the ammo consumptions. Damn thing hits harder than any other secondary. Also it's the best at taking down nullifiers.
(PSN)CronusAeon
I personally would say the gammacor synoid is better. because it has a better accuarcy also does more damage, has a high status chance
InariOkami
I'd say choose what fits best in your hands. I always play a weapon that feels right instead of what others believe is "good." It's not all about statistics when you want to enjoy a game. Edited March 30, 2015 by InariOkami
RobWasHere
Cestras can be hella inaccurate if you hold trigger too long, but their radiation blast makes them pocket nyx. Matter of preference, I would try regular cestras first, if you would like them then take secura. Otherwise gammacor. Anyway, vaykor marelok ftw. Darzk
Cestra is fun but I find them nearly unusable without Steady Hands, Ammo Mutation, and even a reload mod. These three mods drop the damage enough (because they aren't elements) that the weapon is not really a candidate for serious content. It's still a lot of fun to use on lower level missions! Synoid is very effective at close range, but burns a lot of ammo. Even with a mutation mod and no RoF mods (other than LT) it will still run dry on long missions (without a hydroid or nekros). Works well with an efficient primary tho, like a Bow or Opticor.
OniGanon
I disagree on Securas being unusable without Steady Hands and reload mod. Primed Ammo Mutation is the only necessity IMO. But that being said, this isn't a real choice. The Synoid has similar ammo consumption to the Secura, while also having perfect accuracy, zero recoil, much shorter reload time, and higher sustained DPS. As much as people whine about the Synoid nerf, it's still better than damn near every weapon in the game.
EmberCult
I will say synoid, but after its nerf vaykor is slightly better to use
