What Would People Like To See As The Next Primary?

Please, never say that again.

 

Anyway, I would like a high damage, medium RoF AR. It would have wicked recoil (1.3-1.5x that of the Grakata) and low accuracy, but would shred anything up close, and could be tap fired for longer ranged shots. The stats I was thinking of were somewhere along the lines of 

 

35 DMG

10 RoF

20 ACC (I'm not really sure how this works, so just an idea)

20 Magazine

Honestly I want an automatic combat rifle. So many flavors of high-firerate, bottomless mags assault rifles, but no medium fire-rate combat rifles.

 

A medium-firerate medium power rifle with twenty-clip mags would be awesome.

Something that's a tad slower than the Mk 1 with slightly less accuracy and a smaller clip, but at the same time a boost in damage and crit chance.

Either that or rework Burston's recoil and make it a little more reasonable. I shouldn't have to learn 3 shot, semi-auto burst if I can pull off 5 rounds with a tighter spread with an automatic Braton.

Two words,

 

Bolt. Shotgun.

 

Every other ranged weapon has an armor piercing variant, Bolto for the pistols, paris for the sniper rifles (and the snipetron rifle itself), boltor for the rifles.

Why not an armor piercing shotgun with a decent amount of damage, medium spread, low rate of fire, long reload speed, and 4-8 magazine capacity?

1.) a tazer like secondary. You fire a single bolt wich does medium damage. As long you stay within say ten meters and hold the trigger it does constant damage.

 

2.) switchable sword. A sword that can split from single blade to double at any given time.

 

3.) a tripping weapon as a secondary. Could fire something like bolas (http://thespecialistsltd.com/bolas) Which takes the enemy down for a short period of time.

 

4.) trip wire. another secondary. requires player to shoot a bolt at two opposite walls, setting up an electrical trip wire. All enemies that passed it would stumble and take medium damage.

 

5.) zip line gun. basically make your own ziplines

 

6.) bayonets on certain guns, allows some small melee damage to be done with guns

 

7.)whips. No idea how you would implement this, but it would be interesting.

 

8.)shield. Could take the place of your melee weapon or acompany certain secondary. would only be usable while your secondary is equiped

Also this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolaser . TLDR: Basically, you use a laser to superheat gases around the beam and thus creating plasma. After that you send a jolt of electricity over the plasma channel (plasma is conductive) and towards the target. Something like a laser taser.

Anyway, I want to see UT weapons in this game is what I was trying to accomplish with this thread cause those weapons had interesting mechanics.

 

Also no flamethrowers, build an Ember if you want flamethrowers. lol

A new weapon with a new mechanic??

 

I have 2 in mind:

 

Laser beam rifle (like the one wielded by fusion moas)

 

Shock rifle from Unreal Tournament (basically a gun that fires slow moving plasma balls that can be exploded if ur team mates shoot at them)

- very party friendly weapon -

I want to see polearms making it to the game. By that I mean I mostly wait for actual glaive/Guan Dao not "glaive" chakram. Spears or halaberd-like weapons would be awesome too. This idea is getting pretty popular lately. I just hope that after Devs announced polearms in last stream (propably Up 9) they won't screw this up!

 

Also I'd like to see railgun-like weapon, capable of piercing multiple foes.

How about some of the classic unreal tournament weapons ?

 

A Chaingun would be awesome for the heavy frames.

 

So far I see a lot of people requesting an energy based primary, so I guessed that UT had some cool answers to that with interesting weapons like the ASMD and the Pulse Gun from the old UT99

*autocannon

We need more big bullets flying around, right now it feels like we are in kid-territory firing bb's.

full auto but slow refire.

Bring the powah!

 

*a proper minigun.

zoom in spins up, left click to fire, put a chainsaw on it for some melee goodness.

Large drummag which can be emptied rapidly.. think dual viper levels of mayhem.

 

*bio/chemical rifle.

rounds fired stick to everything.

semi-auto fires small droplets of rapidly corroding fluid.

charging up fires bigger droplets.

full charge fires a big blob that explodes after a few seconds or if coming in contact with an enemy.

i know some game had this, but can't remember which one.

 

*silent secondary.. mini crossbow or dart launcher.

Fusion-MOA Styled continuous beam Laser, perhaps.  (Not the corpus crewman type because I probably don't want to carry what my sentinel is using)

 

Or something that ricochets.

 

Or even flamethrowers/spray-like gun (using shotgun mods perhaps)
