Was The 50 Mod Limit As A Result Of Viver-Gate Ever Removed?

I believe the limit is 50 mods can be on the map at once, and once that limit is reached, new mods take the place of the oldest mods by rarity. So a new mod would take the place of a common mod even if a rare mod is older. 50 is a high enough number not to mess with general play though so I wouldn't worry too much.
