Is Windows 10 Worth It?

As I said, that was from the most recent version of the Windows 10 Beta I had, which that update was a few months ago, so chances are it's already fixed, or it should be fixed by the time win 10 itself is officially released on July 29th.

It is fixed.

In that case I have no excuse not to upgrade.

Despite what it said, windows 10 preview was a keylogger. It wasn't designed to personally identify any particular person, but it was collecting data for research, probably going to be used in a way that micro$oft can look at making products for to make money, you know what micro$oft is like. 10 full version is not a keylogger.

From what I hear so far it seems good aside from having to use third party programs for functions that were previously available in older windows OS's, but I will leave judgement until the final release.

Microsoft is far from the only company that is looking to make money... making money is kind of the whole point of creating a company.

I ran Dead Rising 2 with W10IP faster and better than W7U.

And this game has problems.

How do I upgrade?

Here : https://insider.windows.com/

Oh yes, if you update from Windows 7 (any edition) SP1/Windows 8-.1 (any edition too) to Windows 10, you'll receive the full version once it's released.

Also, the version of windows you receive is logical to the one you had before upgrading.

Example : Windows 7 Home - Windows 10 Home, Windows 7 Ultimate - Windows 10 Pro, Windows 8 Core (single language) - Windows 10 Home and so on.

My question is: Will it brick my registry and make me have to reinstall everything from scratch again?

That's the main thing. So I can at least figure out how much prep time it's going to involve.

Nope.

Read the insider program page, there are all steps on how to do it.
