Foundry Slots- Less Frustrating Monetization?

What about not having the foundry displaying every single blueprint you have, but giving it two slots that you could use any any given time? Then charge say, 10 plat or so per extra slot. Along with this, reduce the rush build cost (and make it scale with time left) slightly.

Just a thought. A form of monetization that doesn't lock away game mechanics but still adds a slight inconvenience to people plowing through content that can be avoided through a small purchase.

Because DE seem to be experimenting with ways to convince people to buy plat, and I think this would probably be one of the least intrusive ones. You're not going to miss anything if you couldn't build more than 2 items at a time, unlike other methods such as telling somebody to use plat to bypass a RNG (alerts).

To me it just seems a way for you to shift the platinum bought things to the area you don't care about. I can't really think of a time, in about 200 hours i've been building 2 things at once. Whereas lots of times i've thought i like that weapon/frame/cosmetic. Hence why i got a founders package.

I want platinum to be pay for convenience, not pay for content. I've crafted more than 2 things at a time quite a lot (frames, for example), so it's not something I never use. It's that I think there might be an opportunity to make money in a less obtrusive way than locking new content behind platinum (or RNG independent of player interaction- alerts).

In a way, it doesn't make "sense" from a realistic perspective (not that it's that important in a game, but we've all lived in real life all our lives, right?). Why can you craft any number of items in the foundry at the same time, yet no matter how many you craft at a time, every item takes the same amount of time to build? Unless they are literally an infinite array of tenno 3d printers with weird cad files that don't like being split up into individual parts or something, it just feels weird that in the time I can craft a viper, I can also be crafting every single frame part and not stall the system.

I actually like the idea... But mainly because i don't think i'd ever use it. Even if i only had 1 Foundry slot, i would most likely wait patiently for each individual item to make itself rather then buy additional slots. But still, it is certainly more attractive a purchase then a frigging time bypass on the construction process.

IT IS pay for convenience. There is nothing aside from colors and slots which you cannot obtain just by playing.

There's pay for convenience, and then there's pay for bypass the nerve of not living in certain timezones.

If alerts are a gift, why are non-plat, gameplay-affecting items in there? If not, why are otherwise plat-exclusive items there?

It can increase the minimum crafting time for a frame to 4 days. It can also remove the tendency some players have to craft a weapon then leave it for the day they have the want/slots to use them.

There are no plat exclusive items, that's the point of the alert systems. But before I argue on that point, how did you go from supposedly defending your point about needing to pay for foundry slots to criticizing the alert system? It's faulty logic to try and argue for a change you're suggesting by using arguments to change a completely separate system.

And what is the ideal timezone to live in for alerts? Is it EST? I live in Canada about 30mins from where DE's offices are and I have missed about 3 catalysts/reactors and other ? alerts while I was asleep. Everyone, everywhere has a fair chance at getting a certain item because the alert system is random, it doesn't favor any one timezone.

The ideal timezone seems to be somewhere in Europe, with the same people missing alerts repeatedly because of how randomness will only be evenly distributed at infinity.

You said that everything in this game is pay for convenience instead of cosmetics already. However, the only way to get many items (more for people without plat) is through alerts. Alerts aren't obtained by playing, they're obtained by happening to have access to a computer when they pop up. No matter how much/well/efficiently you play, your chances of getting a rare alert item is unaffected.

Is everyone having a mathematically fair chance a good thing? Potatoes/artifacts are essentially power/progression, as you're straight up weaker without them. Why should a person who barely plays have an equal chance of progressing as somebody who plays every day? Alerts are currently a system that both gives gifts (platinum exclusive helms), and progression (artifacts, potatoes, weapons potentially for mastery ranks), and really can't continue like this.

Why not? I play everyday but I don't have the entitled mentality that your comment seethes with. You know why? Because I'm playing this game because its fun, not because I want every item and to be super powered. That comes with time regardless, whether you play a lot or a little.

Also you seem to be forgetting that this is a free to play game, the nature of which is that there are items which are harder to obtain (be thankful it's not like other F2P games where you absolutley cannot obtain them without money) that players can either pay for to get right away or wait until they get them through an alert.

The way you talk it's like you bought this game from a store and are demanding easy access to every item in it. You're enjoying an incredible game on par with many AAA pay titles for FREE. I fail to see the logic in that people who play everyday should be rewarded with items more frequently over those who play here and there.

Anyway that's all I'll say on the matter here~ :)
