U17 Update Of Shadows? High Gpu Temps-Concerned About My Parts

Edit: Might've updated drivers and that made GPU work harder -_-"

So, I like to baby my parts.

GTX 550 TI SLI

Intel i5-2400

8 GIG Ram 2 Gigx4 Sticks

 

U17 feels like some rooms are darker than before, it might be all the shadows implemented-I noticed way more rooms being darker than before.

There must be  a way to turn of Shadows totally so my GPU isn't able to boil water or go past 80C... I prefer to play for years, rather than have my parts burn out in a 2 years at max graphics to burn out my parts.

 

Here's two images.

 

This first one, shows that (Right) room 1 is absurdly dark. (Left) Room 2, oddly is Pre-U17 dark free.

 

This one shows the liset shadows that is either: totally new, or I haven't noticed in Pre-U17.

 

Pre U17, I've monitered my GPU temp with RealTemp

Idlig in Liset gets me max of 70

Reg Gameplay gets me somewhere around 60-68

intense gets around 69-75ish

 

U17 Pass

Idle-70-80

Reg Gameplay 65-75

 

Checked, None of my capacitors are burnt out!

two things:

 

550 Ti is an old card

 

80C is okay for a gpu.

 

make sure your fps is limited either by vsync or drivers/software so the gpu doesn't push too many unneeded frames.

 

EDIT:

 

Again, your GPU is old, so don't "plan on keeping it for years". In those 1-2 years you're not gonna be able to play anything new on it anyway"

 

And again, don't panic over 80c. Panic when it gets to 90.

two things:

Everything is off, Vsync is locked at 60 fps, and previously, My temps were way lower than before.

 

Hence why I put the comparison
