his 4th ccs. that should be enough.

it's cc is small and not frequent enough.

there's a good chance enemies will pass through it/kill it before it even does something,

btw that's just one of the not really usable 4ths

and sometimes you just don't have the energy for your abilities in the first place

I never had trouble with his 4th and have used it to escape several times.

If it's small add stretch.

Plus he has several abilities that help him survive incoming dmg, anyway.

Yeah, I think the spawning and the number of enemies that "exist" in a mission should be ajusted based on the number of players.

They already are, something like half as many.

However 4 going against twice as many enemies is far easier:

1. You've got double the DPS/enemy.

2. The enemy has half of the DPS/tenno.

3. You've enough DPS to overwhelm large groups.

4. You've generally got someone covering your flanks.

5. You've got someone to support/heal you/give you energy if you're having problems.

6. You've got someone to revive you if you die.

7. You get twice as much XP.

Solo is a lot harder than going as a group.  But it's really also a different game mode.  Solo players should go stealthy.

Pretty much all of this, solo is a completely different world from multi player, you go stealth or you become a master of dodging and doorway hugging.
