Deathbricked
now im not to sure if this is a concept or for feedback, in the game i thoroughly enjoy the music and weaponry. however i feel the the 3 effects above have fairly... lacking sounds. slash as it is is ok but.... i don't know what im trying to say, i've got it in my head but i cant really make slashing noises in text. puncture is something you barely hear in general. now impact. i will just say before writing this post i was playing shiny pink rhino P with a blast and high impact jat kittag. the thing is. you don't feel the impact, it feels kinda lacking. the blast away ragdoll works but the impact sound (when it works) kinda sounds like punching a bar of gel or something. it feels weak. just play a game with a jat kittag and you will know what im feeling here. ok. awkward post is done. Phyrak
Varied sounds for each of them would be nice Slash on metal - the sound of sharpening steel Puncture on metal - a hollow crack sorta sound Impact on metal - crushed steel/metal sounds Slash on flesh - as it is and a little more would be nice Puncture on flesh - another nice thud sound Impact on flesh - the sound of breaking bones or torn sinew A mix of these could produce some gruesome quality sounds
Darthmufin
remember when hitting a grineer enemy would make a metal clanging sound as if you were hitting metal? utterly astonished they ever even removed it. the melee itself might have been clunky, but hearing the sound of hitting metal was probably one of the best sound features at the time, besides the original (aka good) sounds of the gorgon weapon.
