What's The Point Of Reconnecting If You Lose All Rewards?

Title. Don't know if it's a bug or intended, correct me if it's either or.

Enter 5 wave Defense. Wave 3 stalker spawns and drops the long sought after Hate. Wave 4 I disconnect.

Enter game again, get the "reconnect to squad" window, alas all hopes are shattered because the game doesn't actually keep track of the progress you made before you disconnected.

 

Thus the function has little point, as I might as well have started a new mission. Imagine this happening on wave 19, or after 30 minutes of solid survival. All the rewards are lost, as is the time. And yet, we already have the (wonky) framework for reconnecting to your team, so why can't we also keep the rewards server side?

 

Is that not the intended function? Is it not working properly?

yah host should forward the rewards minus possibly none bp drops to players that disconnect and reconnect the only reason i exclude nonbp drops is due to manipulation of using mag on host then everyone but host alt f4 before extract to get the same rewards.

Well if you are after the 20 wave reward in a defense and disconnect at lets say 17 waves and reconnect before that you may lose all progress but still have a shot at the 20 min reward.

 

It was more or less a band-aid fix to net being able to reconnect ever. But the system really should have had a proper fix for a long time now.
