Planetside 2 Is Getting A Base Building System

So the third year anniversary stream for Planetside 2 has covered some intriguing topics such as the base building kits hitting the test servers this year, and a full release sometime next year.

Here's how it works:

"The system will launch with a few prefab structures, including walls, a bunker, turrets and the base core, which generates victory points for your army. Structures can be built anywhere, but will take time and resources to erect.

You can climb into turrets and fire in third-person, with 360 degree freedom, or upgrade them to automatically defend your base. If the base takes a hit, they will focus fire on the attacker, a move designed to deter enemy aircraft looking for an easy bombing run at the core.

The plan is to add more prefab items every few months, along with more flexible building UI that will let you elevate and rotate items to place them with greater precision. "We're aiming for a full base-building system. That's what we want."

Seems pretty cool, and would make things a bit more interesting in Planetside 2.

So there's this very unofficial remote play app that allows you to remote play PS4 games on your PC (though from what they have said, there will be a bit of a delay). The price point is around £6.5 or $10. Now this does not mean you are playing PS4 games on a PC, the PS4 system still has to run and is needed for this.

Always wanted to play PS2 if my PC sometime allows for it- honestly I can only imagine the new bases as something that becomes extremely abused if not handled perfectly... BUT. I love playing a scouting class in games, and when these show up, there will FINALLY be a use for scouts in that game- moreso than "go look in this predetermined area". This really excites me, here's hoping they do it right and I can finally upgrade my PC soon :l

Thanks for the thread! I honestly didn't know that Gears collection was coming to PC at all, or that it even existed. Last game of that I played was Gears 3. If Microsoft doesn't screw up with it by putting it on the W10 marketplace thing instead of things like Steam, I might actually get it. In the meantime, though, the W10 Market is GfWL incarnate, and as such avoided like a plague.

I am actually excited for this, Planetside 2 is my secondary game.

Though I'm not going to hold my breath for this. The update is gonna be huge.

Looking forward to it. The team is small now; but they seem to be focusing on some really important things now. The games changing faster and hopefully for the better.

I havent played PS2 for a few months now, I still like the game and the concept of it but I am feeling a bit burned out on it. I dont really know how I feel about the base building. I thought that the rework of the meatgrinder chokepoint bases on Indar was happier news tbh.

That game got boring after 100 hours.

No arguments really, though if you join a active and social outfit you can extend the game lifetime by another 10X. Playing in the competitions like Serversmash, lane battles, commclash and stuff will probably extend it another 1000h.
