[Spoiler] Dragon Trail Or Meteorite?

I can't tell if the far branched abilities in the focus system are this-or-that or this-and-that. I can't tell if getting two is pointless or not.

 

I have the 3-beam ability right now (Chimera I think) and I'm likely to go on to the 80k abilities tomorrow after work. Will getting Dragon Trail negate Chimera? Like, will it take the spot of Chimera when I select it? I need to know because I'd rather just upgrade Chimera if that's the case. Or get Dragon trail and forget about Meteorite and Hades' Touch.

At the start you can have 5 active nodes at once, each one increasing the cooldown. However you can increase the number of nodes you can have at once at the top of your tree, it'll say increase pool or something.

You can get all of them over time.
