  1. I'm getting such nostalgia reading this thread.
  2. Yeah, moving is absolutely mandatory. Plenty of effects force movement, and if you're low on cards it's suicide to just stand in place when you could be running away. I love the NHS.
  3. That example image does look pretty cool. Have you seen the various Unmatched miniatures? They're honestly some of my favourite miniatures of any game, and they come like this too. Ghost Rider is a personal favourite. Picture stolen from the internet. Makes me not want to paint them because I think they already look so cool.
  4. Base game? It's just this. Nothing special about them, they're solid at least. I assume the monster miniatures are expansion only, or maybe kickstarter only? I'm not sure.
  5. That one is in my cubby hole in the corner. Picked it up for £40 at a convention's bring and buy section completely unplayed, absolute bargain. I'm going to save up and get some expansions for it, I hear the Legendary Hunt expansion is really good by offering a new way of winning the game that people can take a chance on. I enjoyed playing it but the downtime was a little bit much and it almost felt like we spent 75% of the game leveling up and the final 25% slaying things as quick as we could, which is possibly not the intended way of playing.
  6. @Yrkul Behold, my stuff. This is the "I die in an earthquake" stack of games as they collapse upon my helpless form.
  7. I've got The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms and Marvel Crisis Protocol which looks pretty similar. That's fun, but coming up with enjoyable scenery is not my forte, even with the bits I've bought. I see plenty of Star Wars Legion packs when I'm holidaying, but with how tight money is that might just be something I look at. Star Wars Shatterpoint looks pretty cool as well. As far as I can tell Legion is big tabletop battles, whilst Shatterpoint is smaller objective based battles with less (or no) restrictions on who can team up, which is definitely preferable to me.
  8. I haven't collected Warhammer in years. I was very surprised when I went in to buy paints to see all the Tau are white now, and the yellow/brown ones were "over a decade old" or something like that. Never actually played a game of Warhammer for that matter either even with what I did collect. Not worth getting into for me personally, couldn't justify the cost with everything else I have.
  9. Oh wow, not heard of this one. 8.5 rating is good, the $1000+ copies make it seem a bit unfeasible though, but I'll keep an eye out for it. I do like my miniature games. I've pre-ordered the 2nd edition of Gloomhaven with miniature expansion. That has... So many minis, original is just cardboard standees.
  10. Just a little bit. Found the Divinity Original Sin board game + miniature expansions at a convention a few weeks for a mere £170.
  11. I have weights I've used on occasion. But with regards to shelf space. I have none. I have 2 bookcases rammed with books, and virtually every other square inch of the place is filled with board games. My weird cupboard is board games. The weird oversized bookcase I have is board games. The top of my desk is board games. In the event of an earth quake I will be crushed to death by board games.
  12. I relied on it too much in the past and it had a noticeable impact on the rest of me yeah. Much more cautious about it nowadays. Anyway work is a 7 minute walk away, and my place is small enough that I don't think I could fall over even if I wanted to without hitting something on the way down.
  13. I caved and just bought myself a fold up cane that I bring with me to work. Tends to only be an issue towards the end of a shift or if the weather is particularly bad.
  14. Tell me about it. I'm still a young man by most accounts but arthritis has set in on my leg these past few years. Glad to hear you're not inactive though, personally I'm looking forward to falling apart in front a TV.
  15. Life has changed considerably, for the better. I'm still as grumpy as I used to be of course, some things will never change, but yeah, life is good for me. Hope everyone here is doing well too.
  16. Dinner = big meal Supper = small meal before bed
  17. The recent changes allowing Chroma to work well even with overguard were great in my opinion, however there is one part of his kit that is still negatively affected by overguard, Elemental Ward with the electric effect. Unlike cold's damage "deflection" which works whether it's your overguard, shield or health being hit, the electric effect only works if you're taking shield or health damage. Personally I feel overguard damage should be considered. Chroma's own tips specify that it's simply "incoming damage" that generates lightning arcs, not that it needs to be health or shield damage. As it is, overguard completely removes any effect from electric Elemental Ward. Given that Elemental Ward is Chroma's subsumable ability as well, this is an issue that affects not just Chroma. On another note, I don't want to create a separate feedback thread for this, but I recall the lightning arcs actually coming off of Chroma and hitting enemies in the past. Nowadays nearby enemies are just zapped without the lightning arc effect, which lowers the cool factor by about 90%.
