When you're that new to the game, don't worry about getting prime stuff. Simply getting Prime gear is not going to make you stronger. For the most part its going to be mods that make you strong enough to take on higher level content. For now you should focus on your star map. There are plenty of good weapons you can work with from the market for now. Focus on leveling your mods, Serration and Split Chamber and your 90% elementals in particular for you rifle. For your Frame, max your Vitality as soon as you can for more survivability.

Mag isn't a durable frame.  Not worth using Steel Fiber on it. Best you can get is 33% DR.  Better off with Redirection (shields), or Vitality (health)

Mods are what really make you powerful in the game.   It can take a medicore weapon and make it powerful enough to help you in a T4.

Get the frames you can farm from killing bosses, then if you find a frame you like, work on getting the prime version.  Valkyr and Excalibur are IMHO a great beginner frames.  Loki is good for stealth games like spy

You have much to learn tenno :) It's okay though we were all noobs once...

For right now you want to focus on three things - getting your mastery rank up, ranking up your mods and joining a decent clan.

The mastery rank is simple, you just need to level up new weapons and warframes. Go through and use all the MK1 weapons first, since you don't have to craft them. As soon as you rank it up to 30 ditch it and start another one. Also you can farm a lot of warframes on the boss levels of most planets. After you get through the MK1 weapons you'll have to start crafting weapons. You can get a lot of blueprints from the marketplace, others you have to get in a clan dojo. Remember to get the weapon blueprints in the marketplace and not just buy with platinum, because you'll want to use that plat on other things.

As some of the posters above said mods are everything in this game. Even the best weapons are mediocre without the right mods, and the worst weapons perform decently with ranked up mods. For right now focus on getting a redirection and vitality to max rank, and also your straight up damage mods like serration and hornet strike. Also learn to look at your stats. If a weapon has higher puncture than slash and impact then you want to buff the puncture on it. Critical chance/damage and status percentage are two other things to look out for when knowing how to build your weapons. Different damages are effective against different enemies, ie: impact is good for corpus, puncture for grineer and slash for infested. Different element damages (fire, electric, ice and poison and the various combos they have) are more effective against different enemies as well.

I know this all sounds complicated, and there is a lot to learn, but it's part of what makes this game so good, all the different ways you can customize your character and weapons. The best way to get help is by finding a good clan that will guide you through your beginning stages here. You can hit up the recruiting channel in the game chat and try to get in a good clan that will help you out.

Hope that helps, good luck tenno :)
