Power Duration/power Efficiency

So my friend tells me that for Excalibur, it's better to use Power Duration for his ability 4. Wouldn't power efficiency be better since it is a toggled ability? How do I know which one of these mods to use for other frames as well? Thanks!

If excal is anything like other ult toggle frames then indeed his EFF brings more cost reduction then duration, but if you want balanced excal then you need both because short duration will hurt your radial blind and you want that.

 

This is the duration efficiency formula

Left is efficiency and right is duration needed to achieve minimum toggle cost. 

 

100 - 400 EFF

130 - 280

160 - 160

170 - 120

175 - 100

190 -  40

Well you can view the energy drain n the power description. With the duration change you will need a bit of both. Not one over the other

It's a channeled ability, reducing duration kills the energy per sec, but if you go full strength you end up having negative duration anyway so eh.. But if you really want less energy per sec you kinda need both.

Abilities that are toggled on/off and drain energy over time do have their energy drain affected by duration.  Double the duration, halve the energy cost (so you can go twice as long with the same amount of energy).

Basically works off of power used per effective second with duration modifying the length of a second.

Yes, you press it to go into that state, and while in that state you can attack and do special moves and all that jazz, and it drains energy over time.  You can press 4 again to end it, or it'll end when you run out of energy.
