Frost Weapons Help

Hi everyone,

 

I'm mainly playing frost at the moment, doing some void missions in 2-3 men parties. My "main action" weapons are for melee Galatine with tempo royal, which I absolutely love, and Sonicor as secondary (which crowd control saves my life on a daily basis). I'm strugling to find a nice primary for him though, keeping in mind that I'm only at rank 6.

 

I thought about Tonkor, but have seen that it's pretty bad when not modded perfectly (and I have actually not a lot of mods, and my primary weapon ones arent the best I have). I was thinking about something with somme nice range since sonicor has a crappy one, and I have no problem destryoing most things that come into melee range.
I've seen a lot of videos about the primary weapons, but still have a hard time deciding which one I should go for, so I came here for some wise advices :p

I like playing frost as CQC specialist. the Tigris is a great option, so is the Hek.  The penta can be good too but you gotta be careful.  The phage is great for wiping rooms as well.

 

Ive never been low enough mastery to be locked out of anything so i apologize i dont know what you can and cant use.

If you are already fighting as short range most of the time Hek and Tigris are good heavy killers and can be modded for status or just damage.

if you want something with some range Braton prime is a good status rife, and soma (both kind) is a good buzz saw.

beyod that it depends heavily on what you are fighting. Amprex is still good vs infested crowds, boltor is good vs greneer, toxic ignis is just silly vs corpus.

comes down to what you like in the end unless you are doing sortie, high round/time t4 or raids

For any type of defense missions I use my forma'ed Opticor. I put myself in the globe and hunt the big guys that need the huge punch Opticor provides.

 

If I have to be more mobile I use my Latron Prime modded for status. But as others suggested Tigris and Hek are also very decent choices.
