Specific Dmg Types In Crit / Combos

Question

Good Day

Now i know i should know this and i am slightly embarrassed that i dont, but i would be very grateful if someone could explain this to me.

So if i had a weapon with the following arbitrary stats. 10 punc 10 slash 10 impact, and i add serration and or heavy cal and crit dmg + chance i understand the numbers. But if i where to add a mod on top of that situation that is specific to slash lets say buzzkill. i have 2 questions about this scenario.

1. when i put an elemental combo into this build the dmg added by buzzkill is negated ?

2. same for crit, is the dmg from buzzkill negated ?

Thank you for reading.

tl;dr:

1. The elemental doesn't scale off Buzzkill.

2. Crit multiplies the final damage, including e.g. Buzzkill.

IPS mods only scale off that portion of the base damage.

10/10/10 + 100% base damage (Serration or Heavy Cal) = 20/20/20

10/10/10 + a 120% = 22/10/10

10/10/10 + a 90% elemental = 10/10/10/27

10/10/10 + a 90% elemental + a 120% = 22/10/10/27

10/10/10 + 100% base + a 90% elemental + a 120% = 44/20/20/54

What do you mean by "negated"? Buzzkill gives you bonus slash damage, that's all. Crit damage multiply the total damage of the weapon, while elmentals are based off base damage (modified by serration, and I'm correct even heavy caliber)

is there a good reason elementals do not use dmg specific mods in the equation or is that something that needs to be fixed ? to me it seems wrong.

by negated i meant not included into the equation.

This is how the thing works.

assume  u got 10 impact/ 10 puncture / 10 slash

so when u equip buzzkill / slash proc it will affect only slash damage

so lets say buzzkill 100%

so your damage from 10 / 10 /10 become 10 / 10 / 10 * (100% + 100% ) = 10 / 10 /20

then you decided to equip some  elemental mod so

is

10/ 10 / 20 / ( base damage x 90%) = 10 / 10 / 20 / ( 30 x 0.9 ) = 10 / 10 /20 / 27

then you want to add another element

10 / 10 /20 / 27 / ( 30 x 0.9 ) = 10 / 10 / 20 /27 / 27

but the element mix so

it become 10 / 10 / 20 / 54

then you add increase damage mod ( eg serration = 100%)

so it become (10 / 10 / 20 / 54 ) x ( 100% + 100%) = (10 / 10 / 20 / 54 ) x 200% = 20 / 20 / 40 / 108

so main story is

weapon type mode eg. increase slash damage only affected by base damage

element type mode also affected only by vbase damage

increase damage mod affects all xd
