So with max Arcane Avenger, Point Strike, Argon Scope, and Critical Delay plus Bladed Rounds and Vital Sense, you should be able to get it up to 173% crit chance with 12.8x crit damage. Is this worth it over a normal minor crit + elementals build? Would removing Critical Delay for 154% crit chance in order to add two elementals (heavy cal + serration takes two slots) change that significantly?

Crit mods are a bonus on top of the very damage base (raw +damage, multishot and usually 2 elementals), not the very base.

 

You may have very high crit multiplier, but that multiplier will have to work off a very low base damage value, severely reducing the end damage output.

I would advise against using Critical Delay.

I personally build mine like this (assuming Avenger):

- Serration

- Heavy Caliber

- 2*90% elementals

- Point Strike

- Vital Sense

- Argon Scope

- Bladed Rounds

68.5% crit chance @ 6.8x crit dmg when all conditional bonus are up. Really strong imho. Although i do not build it that way because i use it on Nova and Nova can't really use Avenger all that well.
