Azure_Kytia Posted June 10, 2013 Share Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) The thing with the PS4 release is that Sony themselves approached Digital Extremes and made them an offer that is pretty freaking amazing. Microsoft has done no such thing, as they have a lot of Red Tape that they want their developers to go through, which would cost DE money as well as potentially cause some loss in liberties in the game's creation process. So yeah, at this point, unless Microsoft has some pretty large changes of heart with their processes and show a little initiative, I doubt it would be coming any time soon. They require patches to fit strict criteria which they force devs to send to them first, they can't be too small, and they can't be too big. resulting in important patches taking 2 weeks or longer to get live after being submitted. They are also loathe to host content over Xbox Live that does not directly make Microsoft money. It is why aside from a port of FFXII being a launch title for the 360 and getting special treatment, there have been no free2play games, MMO's or other "evolving" games on an Xbox console.
