Forgot e-mail address, what do I do?

Set up an account for a friend, it hasn't been logged into in almost two years, cannot remember the e-mail. I thought I knew the e-mail, but it tells me that there are no accounts registered under the e-mail I thought it was. Anyway to recover the account?
