AdunSaveMe
Simple fact is, it doesn't make the game more challenging. It makes it more tedious. This, this isn't challenging content. It doesn't make us go "man, that was hard to beat, I feel great for beating that challenge". It makes us go "man, that took ages", then we wonder if it was worth it. Because when you just increase the level without adding new mechanics and new hurdles to overcome, it's pointless. It becomes a chore instead of a challenge, a job instead of a game, and pure monotony instead of active fun. This is a problem inherent to sorties that is exacerbated by this new change. The only additional challenge offered by sorties is a random handicap and really high enemy level, instead of more enjoyable things, like sortie-specific enemy types with new abilities, or twists on mission objectives (mobile defense with an escort, crossfire survival, dual boss fights etc.). Just high levels, woo. It's the same enemies, the same game, just that it takes longer to beat. If you want the game to be challenging, this is not the way to do it imo.
