question regarding lenses

I recently finished the second dream and I'm wondering if I forma a weapon or frame that has a lens attached to it will the lens become temporarily useless until said frame/weapon ranks back up to 30, or if the lens will be destroyed due to the forma'ing of the frame/weapon? Focus is exactly the excess of affinity. Still affinity but only the extra that ends up not used.

Meaning that yes, the lens will become "temporarily disabled" because you're not getting any excess affinity out of said Warframe / Weapon because it's back under rank 30.

The only way to destroy a lens is by either destroying the weapon or replace it with another.

When you forma a weapon/warframe containing a lens, the lens remains installed on the item. The item that had the lens installed and was polarized will be unable to gain focus until it is rank 30 again.
