TheGameYouJustLostIt
A mod the gives the shield damage reduction to make it last longer. ( would require a number to be set for each frame, like armour.) This would make shield tanking a bit better. Instead of just face tanking with health and armour. Thoughts.? ethics
Shields do have a number? There is also a mod to increase shield recharge... I don't think we need any more defensive mods until the game gets harder.... Not to mention it will boost the defensive capability of the weaker frames a lot more than the damage taking ones, which is not as it should be, they sacrifice defense for increased offense. Health/armour tanking is how it should be for reasons stated above, what frame do you have in mind when you think of these changes out of curiosity. Tsukinoki
While this might be a good mod to have it would need to be carefully balanced to avoid some frames from becoming too tanky. At the maximum level of steal fiber, and on a Rhino, you are only suffering 24.10% damage to your health (ignoring poison). That means an attack for 100 damage only deals 24. This is balanced out by the lower health total (300 at rank 30) than the shields (450 at rank 30), and that it impacts your health. If it applied to your shields as well at that level of reduction it would be ridiculously hard for a rhino to ever go down because of its extremely large shields and the hardening that would be applied to it. And even if you try to balance it by having the caster frames with less health get better shield hardening, it would still have the large chance of making a lot of frames too hard to take down and would even further diminish the challenge of the game. While there may be promise behind this idea, it would have to be very carefully balanced to prevent frames from becoming too hard to kill, which would make the game boring. TheGameYouJustLostIt
Frames with high armour would have a low shield hardness ( Just call it that for now) and frames with low armour would have a high shield harness. It was more for making the frames with low armour and health a little less squishy.
TheGameYouJustLostIt
Shields do have a number? I don't mean the shield capacity. There has to be some sort of number that effects damage reduction to the shields. Like armour does.
General-Griffin
It could be called polarity charge. It would be sweet to sort out the iron skin suicide run so I know if my sheilds can take a fair bit of a hammering on later waves.
