To rank or not to rank

So I just realized my Hornet Strike is only rank 9, but if I rank it up to rank 10, it only goes from 200% to 220%,

not to mention I will need a handful of cores, but with Damage 3.0 coming (whenever o.0) should I bite the bullet and rank it all the way hoping to get a Legandary Core for my trouble?

or maybe save my cores for more effective ranking up and other mods?

If you haven't maxed out your Barrel Diffusion and Lethal Torrent mods yet I would put the cores into those instead. They give you more chances to inflict Status effects or score Criticals in addition to providing a straight damage increase.

After that it's up to you. Damage 3.0 is a while off if it's going to eventuate in the form they've discussed at all, so you might as well get some use from your Cores and Hornet Strike by ranking it up.

They just released Primed Pressure Point, I believe that Damage 3.0 is far from close. +Sure you probably will get a sweet Legendary Core after that.

Done and done, Damage 3.0 seems far away.....(like my youth)

So I might as well get Hornet Strike ranked up for the Legandary Core at the end of the rainbow.
