So, my graphics went haywire...

Question

I was playing some Warframe today when pixelated snow passed over the screen and then went blue. The computer restarted, but couldn't open up Windows without starting up in failsafe mode and not without horizontal lines all over the screen. Tried a cold reboot and Windows opened up normally. "No biggie" I thought as I turned off my PC to make dinner. After dinner I tried again and opened up Warframe. Five minutes later the pixelated snow came again and rebooted the computer. Now I can only open up Windows in failsafe and with horizontal lines all over. A quick look in Device Management told me there was something wrong with the graphics. I guess the card's toast...

According to Speccy I'm using :

  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 470
  • Intel Celeron E3200 2,40 GHz
  • 4GB Dual-channel DDR3 Ram
  • Foxconn Eton motherboard

I have zero experience with graphics and know you guys are the best bet to ask questions like this to. Should I get a similar graphics card or something else? A quick look in the second-hand website had a used GeForce GTX 470 Zotac 1280 for 53.77EU ($59.81 - £44.86). Should I get that instead?
