So it's an exterminate mission. Then why did I find a random power cell on the floor? One I can pick up, and what is it for? o.O

Power carrier dropped it on his way to an excavation ship.

It's the tile, not the node. For some reason there are TWO Power Cells in that room. One where you found it and one on top of a pipe near the ceiling for some reason. You can insert them into a small port on the left side if you look towards the gates the ships uses. Doesn't seem to do anything as far as I know though.

Well, I half figured it out.

That door above the port on the left side of the room?

 

Yeah, it used to be open all the time. It isn't anymore. Now you need to expend a powercell to open it.

As for why, I've got no idea. If anyone in this thread wants screenies, I took some before/after shots.

Also, I say I only half figured it out because I still don't know what that second cell is for -- I'm damn-near-certain it is supposed to be used for something, and it's probably something very similar -- a power-port which has locked a formerly-unlocked door.

That said, I haven't got a clue yet where that other port would be, but I'm still looking.
