Warframe missions need random events.

The different mission types themselves provide variety.

If you just want to finish a mission/node for a particular reason..., I imaging players would not be happy to have this derailed by some random event?

 

The different mission types provide variety but they get old after like 500+ hours.

For me, defense is no fun because the enemies don't come in that fast.

Survival is kind of time consuming since there is literally no way to accelerate the timer.

I'm ok with others though but if they can be improved, why not?

- A syndicate squad is hitting this ship/base. Depending on your syndicate allegiance, you get 2 different missions. If you're friendly, they will ask for an escort to get to a location or to capture/kill a specific target. If you're hostile, you could go and take them out and get a reward from their competitors. Reward can be syndicate points (or medallions).

- A group of prisoners (on Grineer ship missions) is being prepped to be sent to a slave colony. You could head to the hangar bay, kill the captors and the prisoner NPCs will head to a ship and escape (just an animation event). Reward can be mods or relic.

- A clerk of a Corpus executive is detected on this ship/base. Capture the clerk and it would activate a Bursa (in the same room) that has access to the hidden account of the executive. Defeat the Bursa and hack it and the money will be transferred to you. Reward can be lots of credits.

- An enemy with a bounty for their head is detected on this ship/base. Find them and kill them and you'd get a reward. These enemies will be based on arena combatants (for Grineer) or Hyena/Bursa (for Corpus). Reward can be credits, mods or relic.

- On a Corpus ship or base, you detected a Lone Tenno Operative who had been captured for the Zanuka Project. Find and release him/her. It's almost like a Rescue except the prisoner works like a spectre, with Tenno powers. You can lend him your secondary. Reward can be mods or relic.

- On a ship or base, there's an enemy squad of a faction that is not from the mission hitting the place and extracting a valuable data. Head over there before they're all killed or escape, kill them and get the data yourself. You have to bring the data core back with you during extraction. Reward can be credits or mods.

These things are needed asap!! The missions seem so empty and pointless the way things are right now. And to those that say warframe is farming and we play for rewards, you need to get a job. Gameplay must be priority number 1 for the devs because this is a GAME and we play for FUN

Also i thought it would be great if succesfully completing missions or side objectives had a chance of triggering a new mission (maybe an invite only alert) upon returning to the liset. Maybe with slightly bumped enemy level or a special modifier. So like mini quest arches that can randomly form and give doubled rewards and xp. This would help break how monotonous it all feels at the moment, like we only play missions to have the lotus say her lines.

Good idea! Completing side missions might trigger a special personal mission with a certain reward, which you can invite others to join also. It would be a side mission that you can save and do later, almost like an alert without a time limit, available only to you because you did a side mission. This way missions would be even more dynamic.

"Civilian Nullifiers"   Not nullifying per se, but having civilians present could prevent warframes from using AOE abilities until they are out range.    I would say allow all abilities but if there were negative consequences for killing the civilians it would be too easy to grief your teammates  by, intentionally or accidentally, nuking Joe and Jane Citizen.

Seriously though, DE, OP makes some good suggestions. Sorties are not demanding/dynamic enough.

i like the events but maybe have it as an option, i can imagine that not every1 would like the events. also i really want to see interactions like throwing  a foe off the map when you are close to the edge, or throw them in to laser barriers/arc traps.

I was thinking for a while about this and then I realized what I really would like is a wider selection of raids, or missions that require teamwork, and perhaps a lower barrier of entry to some of them - as well as others with a higher barrier. Very few people do them and that could be a result of a combination of selection or difficulty assembling a team and so on. 

On reflection, I think sorties have their place as a daily quest type deal, they don't need to be that intricate. They definitely feel lackluster though, when you can solo generally anything that's not an excavation or defense.
