Rhorge
I thought it meant adversary. Lucifer is considered by many to be Satan though. It has to do with a description of a king in Isaiah. Some of it matches up with certain descriptions of Satan elsewhere. Lucifer itself technically means morning star, and was used as a description of the planet Venus IIRC. Anyway, you do make an interesting point. The basic difference between the two is that Lucifer is the demon prince of pride and Satan is the demon prince of Wrath. ValhaHazred
This is from a question and answer session with DE_Steve Q: The mythological influence in the game is clear. What drove the decision to have the warframes based off of various pantheons? A: It’s suggestive of an ‘older’ universe and touches on legends. The Warframe universe is supposed to feel old to create authenticity. We wanted the Warframes themselves to have more in common with mythological weapons, like Excalibur or gods like Loki, than a cyberpunk vibe of Exo-X123. My personal influences are Dune, which is set in the ridiculously far-future and plays with the Arthur C. Clarke idea that sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. We wanted Warframe to have a bit of magic in it! Mythological references aren't going anywhere.
ValhaHazred
Good point. Although I think that Shiva is often depicted as female. One of his avatars is half man, half woman. The God itself is depicted as male.
