Sniper Ammo Drop Rate: Should It Be Changed?

I honestly think the sniper ammo should drop at the rate of Rifle/Shotgun ammo, but with maybe 5 or less rounds instead of 10.

I find myself running out of ammo really fast even when I'm getting kills with every shot. I do better with Latron and Latron Prime because of how much ammo they have and how often it drops.

If you run out of ammo with a rifle or a shotgun, you can easily find ammo to get back to using it again. even if it's barely any, it's still something.
If you run out of ammo on a sniper rifle or a bow? Good luck finding ammo to use it again.

What do you think? Should the drop rate be higher but with less ammo in it?

EDIT: Or do you think we should have a system like Archistopheles suggested, right below this post? I really like the idea, myself.

The problem is right now it is random, some mission I get zero sniper ammo pick-ups other times I get more sniper ammo that I can use. It would be nice if it was more predictable. One mission I had 5 kills in a row drop sniper ammo it made me wonder what system they use for the RNG for ammo pick-ups.

Edit: I have done thousands of mission too so its enough of a sample size to say it is just like the alert system that get stuck on one pick up type.

Ammo should drop 1 of 2 options: Primary Ammo, Secondary ammo.

Guns should then be given a set amount of reserve ammo based on what they are.

Snipers get 25-50 reserve ammo, shotguns get whatever, Grakatas and Gorgons get the most.

That's one really good idea! Sure DE would have to a bit of number changing to get the ammo to be balanced, but it would really help the game. There would no longer be useless ammo pickups that you can't even use because you don't have the right weapon type.

Odd that DE didn't think of this in the first place. It's a much better system of ammo than now.
