0 (XBOX)EternalDrk Mako
explanation: pc have a free to update rollout system there is no charge or cost to push updates [other then utilities and staff costs] so they can easily push pc updates and hotfixes without any red tape consoles on the other hand are a different story the systems require a certification process for updates , normally called [cert] here on the forums the process by which de must develop and update and then submit its build to both Microsoft and Sony this submission process costs money and is a double charge because its on 2 separate platforms so the builds update should have a good amount of content to provide DE with profits /return of the cost to submit these companies then have to run diagnostics checks to make sure this update is safe no malware will not brick systems will not hurt systems does not interfere with other services ect while these are running we have a wait time when the certification is completed and is found to be ok they notify DE DE then preps the updates and pushes them out we then update and submit feedback on bugs and such we discover which then rotates to hotfixes Edited December 6, 2016 by (XB1)EternalDrk Mako
0 (PSN)Elctrcstel
because in order for us to get updates, it has to go through Sony/MS to make sure the new data will not brick the console. It also costs DE $$ to go through the cert process. So, PC get the data first, play through it, give feedback, DE makes tweaks and changes, then after a good amount of content is there and DE is happy with it, DE lumps it together and sends it to Sony/MS for cert. the cert process usually takes a week or so, provided all is well. if things go south for the cert process, DE has to make changes and resubmit and pay again Now DE can do hotfixes to existing code on console all they want, but if there is new code being added (new frame, weapon, ect) they have to send it to cert.
