Additional Shield Mechanics | Volt

When you go near the shield of Volt, he can press a button to pick up his shield. 

This gives me an idea (aside from nerfing the shield energy cost when picking it up). When you go near his shield, you can press more than one button that gives a different option. 

1) Pressing another button besides the picking up button, allows you to coat the Shield onto your melee. You indefinitely block all attacks and reflect bullets with electricity proc. You do additional electricity damage and do a stun for every swing that chains. As well as getting an increase to swing speed by 5% for melee. 

2) By the idea of @GeometricBison. You press another button and literally wear the shield. Where Volt becomes so fast, vibrating his molecules to a point that he dodges 90% of incoming attacks but this incarnation mode of electricity, takes a lot of energy.
