Focus and Operators 2.0

Just a few ideas to bring Operators, Focus, and Alignment together as one.

Feel free to drop suggestions and feedback. 


Adding Tenno Schools to Operator Powers

Spoiler

The Tenno founded 5 great schools, each one based off of a different approach to combat. Each approach should be implemented into the Operator's abilities.

Madurai: Participation FocusLensMadurai_b.png

Abilities based on "swift, uncompromising onslaught".

  • Operator Passive: All abilities do more damage the higher up the average enemy level is.
    • For example: Mission enemy level = 20-30 = +25% boost in damage.
  • Lacerating Ray (Void Beam): Each tick of damage has a 10% chance to proc Slash.
  • Detonating Blast (Void Blast): Enemies caught in the blast explode, dealing 1000 Blast damage to each enemy.
  • Crippling Dash (Void Dash): Enemies caught in the dash will be proc'd Puncture for 15 seconds.
  • Empowerment (Void Mode): The next Void Beam you shoot after Void Mode will deal red crits.

Vazarin: Negation FocusLensVazarin_b.png

Abilities based on "defense against all aggression".

  • Passive: Through the Void's energy, the Operator can revive themselves once after dying.
  • Absorbing Beam: Damage done by the Beam is stored in a pool capping at 150, that will replenish lost health overtime in a manner like shields.
  • Saturating Burst: For every 5 enemies hit by the blast, the Operator gains 10 health.
  • Restoration: Operator will heal 20 health per second while in Void Mode.

Naramon: Information FocusLensNaramon_b.png

Abilities based on "truly understanding a foe".

  • Passive: Abilities' damage increase the more they are used on a faction.
    • Example: Damage to Corpus will increase by 5% for each Corpus troop killed. Damage will diminish when switching to another faction. Caps at 150%
  • Exposing Ray: The Beam deals 100% critical hits, with a 10% of a red crit.
  • Weakening Blast: All enemies affected by the Blast will be prone to Finisher damage via the Void Beam.
  • Confusing Rush: Enemies you pass through with the Dash will fight for you as long as they are alive and you are in Operator mode.
  • Enlightenment: When exiting Void Mode, all enemies in a 50 meter sphere around the Operator will be visible for 30 seconds.

Unairu: Adaptation FocusLensUnairu_b.png

Abilities based on "withstanding all aggression without retreat".

  • Passive: Operator's health comes with 200 armor.
  • Petrifying Stream: All enemies hit by the Beam will be turned to stone.
  • Rusting Burst: Each enemy hit will have proc'd with Corrosive.
  • Stripping Zoom: The Operator gains 5 armor for each enemy passed through.
  • Endurance: Upon exiting Void Mode, damage you inflict will pool into your armor value for 30 seconds. (1 point of armor/100 damage).

Zenurik: Domination FocusLensZenurik_b.png

Abilities based on "choking an opponent of all resources".

  • Passive: Operator gains +10% sprint speed after each ability used.
  • Rapid Shaft: Void Beam has a higher rate of fire, but same cast time. 
  • Energizing Blast: When 5 enemies are hit, the Operator loses no energy using the Blast.
  • Lengthy Bolt: The Void Dash goes further.
  • Enclosure: Every enemy touched while in Void Mode cannot move for 30 seconds after the Operator exits Void Mode.

 

Implementing Alignment to Operator Powers

I'm sorry for the Neutralists, but I have no idea how to add benefits for neutral alignment. Really sorry. 

Before something can be done to add alignment to the Operator, I feel like there should be a way to change your alignment throughout the game. Not sure how, but you can add suggestions.

The dark side will be called the Umbra, and the light side will be called Radiance.

Abilities associated with each side will be based off of the Christian seven deadly sins, and seven virtues of heaven, respectively.

Each sin and virtue will have their own ability. How many abilities you will have access to will depend on how aligned you are with one side. Each ability will have a cooldown upon using, depending on the ability's benefit(s).

Umbra Skills:

Spoiler

Lust: Lust brings your enemies into a primal state of desire. Enemies hit by a Void Beam are brought into chaos, and start attacking others out of lust for power. (25s)

Gluttony: Gluttony, in an ironic twist, consumes the foe. Enemies hit by a Void Blast will have their armor chewed through, and their shields devoured. (40s)

Envy: Your enemy envies your power. Enemies passed through a Void Dash become jealous, and take +50% more damage by any attack. (40s)

Greed: Every faction is greedy in its own sinful ways. Enemies passed through a Void Dash will be disarmed, each weapon lost converted into 10 health for the Operator. (60s)

Pride: You and your Warframe shine with the pride of ancient warriors. Void Beam and all Warframe abilities gain +150% Power Range for the rest of the mission. (N/A)

Sloth: Sometimes, even Tenno succumb to burnout. Operators enter a "shutdown" mode. If not attacked for 10 seconds, the Operator awakens with a 200% health boost. (80s)

Wrath: Tenno cannot escape from fits of anger. Upon exiting Void Mode, your Warframe's next ability will gain +500% Power Strength. (120s)

Yes to a lot of these suggestions.

Overall I want something like this added but I think it could be taken even further.

AND I think they should add some kind of accessory system to bolster the stats of your operator. Like a backpack or earrings giving added health, shield, armor, energy pool, etc.

I think it could really add diversity to mechanic that is right now only a gimmick.

You can take it further and make our suits offer different bonuses. Something to change and alter how our operator plays, and allowing him/her to be a part of the mission that isn't just kuva.

focus can be made very good   rework all skills to be very good in all schools...  maybe about 30 in each school... but u can have only idk 5 points...  also if school have passive skills they need to be active all time ... without need to active focus in game

The Tenno is a blast. Well, until an enemy sneezes in your general direction. Yes, the game is designed around the warframe.

 

I understand that a warframe will ultimately be more durable but why can't we equip gear to make us just a bit stronger, more resilient, not laughed at.

 

Battery pack for shields

Armor plating for... armor.

Bracers, rings, earrings,  other piercings for energy.
