Launcher is stuck at checking for new content every time I update

I'm necroposting in this thread as this is the first result on google search.
Still no fix for this? Everytime there's an update this happens, I usually just wait a couple of days but it's been awhile now and I still can't get the game to update.

Trying to start at 00:00 local time in your country is the only thing that worked for me.

I spoke with the support and they said that launcher works fine, so I told them to remake it to be slow net friendly and they replied that they have no influence on this kind of decisions, they suggested to post on forums and hope that decision makers will see it and take it seriously.

Still no fixes for this? Do any of them even care at this point? I've wasted gigabytes of my internet quota downloading both the STEAM and standalone version of the game at the suggestion of the help center and neither of them bloody work. This is ridiculous.

Still a problem. Only solution for me is to uninstall and reinstall.

I am having the same/a similar problem, the launcher gets stuck on: 
"Update failed!

The content servers are temporarily unavailable.

The update will be restarted shortly.."
Changing the settings, running with admin permissions and even a reinstall all failed to fix this. I'm still stuck here and I would really appreciate some help.

Sadly I am currently suffering from a similar issue.  The download happened rather fast, but when it comes time for the checking for new content step it slows down to maybe 50kbs if i'm lucky.
