What counts as "Allies"?

For the purposes of things like Smite Infusion and the bonuses from some Naramon branches (ha!), what are "allies"? Is it just other squadmates? Or is it any friendly, NPC or otherwise? If I caste Smite Infusion on a specter or a kubrow or Rescue target, do they get the rad damage buff? Does Tactical Strike give them the crit chance and invisibility bonuses (I -could- visually verify that last one myself, but I can never find them when its active. Maybe it's working)?

If I recall correctly, when using Naramon, your waves can Increase your allies critical chance for ... was it 8-20 seconds? And also grant them invisibility on a higher tier of the branch.

aha.. not sure if focus abilities can affect npc allies c.c

Anything that's not trying to kill you and shows up as blue on your minimap pretty much. I have not tested it on Operatives or Npc's, but it seems to work on Specters.
