Armor attachments cannot match main colors?

Maybe it's just this one: The Harkonar Wraith armors. Warframes must be red and black to match the armor, because Copy Main Colors does not seem to work for me. If this is the case, why would I want to ever buy armors?

I'm pretty sure Ive seen armors matching Warframe colors, but perhaps it's always been the other way around? Or are all Wraith armors like this—or just this one?

Wraith and vandals weapons and armor aren't recolorable yet but most likely will be in the future.

Anything with "wraith" or "vandal" attached to the name is a unique event reward and can't be recolored. They're usually weapons, this is the first wraith armor set (there's another wraith syandana though). And yeah, it's annoying if you don't happen to like the color scheme.

Don't want to give you too much false hope, but they've recently mentioned possibly allowing them to be colorable. Nothing beyond a mention ATM.
