Re-bound key isn't working.

I'm running on a laptop and my Esc key broke. Since that's a pretty freaking important key for games I decided to download a program that allowed me to re-bind my Esc key to right-shift. This new bind works in all other games EXCEPT this game, and I have no clue how to fix it. Does anyone have any clues on the problem?

Stab in the dark, but have you tried running that program as Administrator?

The program doesn't run in the background, you change what key you want re-mapped and then restart your pc and it should be changed. After that you don't need to touch the program.

Well it started working after I fullscreened the game. For some reason it doesn't work in borderless fullscreen.
