WuddlesCorth
Hello I would like to point out that there is currently a bug with how sentients gain damage resistance and then completely negate all other damage types. So currently if you damage a sentient with lets say the dex sybris and drop it's health to the first damage resistance gate, it will gain not only slash but also puncture, shown here:https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/85975227916635408/050F8ADC2FB3FB225206A4BBEE2BAB6FA0280BDA/ They then proceed to completely resist the rest of whatever damage type your weapons may or not have, shown here: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/85975227916615124/805A9AB36B1990ECE3A063A1929ECB37B3B78B46/ As you can see they only currently have a resistance to slash and puncture yet they take nearly zero damage to the impact side of the weapon. Here is my dex sybris build: (it is a puush because I found getting the damage numbers to show up was a pain with push so I used steam instead) This bug is very aggravating as it also affects the shadow stalker. Just as well using a different weapon such as the sonicor or the staticor will yield the same result. Here is my sonicor build: And here is what happened:https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/85975227916670515/DAE56144F3819DA3F82A4B078DE0BFBCDF6C7B21/https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/85975227916671395/95C545F411FC36386B35C399C9345C193DB11609/ As you can see once again they gained slash and puncture damage (all be it with blast on the first health gate but at the second one they gained puncture and slash) and it almost completely negates the rest of my damage. I personally farm sentients for both broken war parts and Vengeful Revenant. On top of that it would be nice to see this fixed for future quests involving sentients. SpycrabSurprise
Having this exact problem, can't get past the sentient fight in Second Dream thanks to it. Part of that might be that I just need to git gud, but there is definitely something up with resistances
ashyrae
This isn't a bug. If a Sentient or Shadow Stalker is afflicted by two status procs simultaneously before each HP gate for resistances, the moment the gate is reached, he will become resistant to both. It makes it a pain, but using weapons with multiple damage types is your best bet - e.g. a Tigris modded for Corrosive or Gas, then a Lex/Lex Prime with Radiation, and a melee with whatever else is remaining. Because weapon damage is influenced cumulatively, not additively, by IPS - throwing immunity to Puncture and Slash will decrease the amount of Impact damage done. It's always been this way. That all may be true but regardless sentients still gain both slash and puncture damage resistance to weapons that don't have those damage types, and then in turn becomes 90% resistant to impact and any other elements. For instance I used the sonicor which has no slash or puncture damage, purely impact and whatever element I put on it. Then boom the sentient becomes 90% damage resistant to guess what? That's right puncture and slash. This is a bug, it it wasn't it's another thing that should never be in the game to begin with.
