new challenging missions

So the more time i spend here, the more complain i see about this game not having challenge.

Here im going to list some interesting mission ideas that might solve this problem. Every mission here is 4-8 player with pub nodes.

Feel free to discuss or add in more ideas.

Tram race

You know those trams inside grineer bases? In this mission you first steal a tram filled with goods then race out to a bigger open space beam up the materials and evac.

This mission has 3 phases:

1) The initial stealing. Kill the guards at the station and hack the tram.

2) Tram defence. The moving tram is attacked by ground and air forces, both the tram and the containers have hp. If you lose a container you lose the mats what were inside it, if you lose the tram you lose everything.

3) Loading and leaving. Once you are at the goal you have to defend yourself while the lotus agents load up stuff to your landing craft. When they are finished you can extract.

Death vaults

You were instructed to get important information off from crashed freighters on deadly planets. In these missions there are barely any enemies but they are filled with enviromental hazards.

Variants:

1) Saturn salvaging. A corpus battleship has been attacked and lost most of its systems, they are slowly entering the gas giant. The players have to get through flipped room, null gravity areas, poisonus gas, ocassional corpus generals and the half demolished spy vaults.

2) Earth extract. A grineer flagship has crashed into earth, no one survived and tge ship is half submerged into an acidic lake. Hazards include acid streams, dissolved rooms, dangerous animals, grineer spy vaults and kuva type defense systems.

Assault

Fixed enemy numbers, stealth mode, perma alert, advaced defense systems, elite eximus units and deathsquads. This is what one must expect when they are attacking a main military bases.

Variants:

1) Bursa factory. The players are instructed to enter a bursa factory to destroy it. Inside the factory there are 400-600 enemy units between lv 40-60. Mostly techs (60%), snipers (10%) bursas (10%) and nullfiers (10%). The place also has empovered sentry towers, armored eximus units and an ambulas deathsquad. The objective is to enter and sabotage the core without raising alarm or to kill everybody and let the Lotus task force handle it.

2) Grinner experimental laboratory. The players are here to steal genetic information, warplans and to take out the base for good. Inside there are 400-700 enemy units around lv50. In this base there are mostly bombards (30%) napalms (20%) and heavy gunners (20%) along with experimental units such as grinner shield projectors, heavy bombards, dual wielding hek troopers, energy gunners and 1 infested enforced maniac. The objective is to steal the information asked by the lotus (and every other valuable data) and to plant a bomb at their reactors. If the alarms go off kill every target fast and destroy the base because every 5min the mobs are healed and gain extra damage.

The "lack of challenge" is a side effect of players stacking massive damage abilities and weapons to a point they just clear entire rooms.

A game like Borderlands is far more balanced when you and the enemies are the same level. I would not necessarily say "challenging", but at least you actually had to pay attention, something that we don't have to do unless enemies are 60 and above, and we all know that only happens rarely, as we spend most of our time cleaning Alert missions in the 10-40 level tops.

In Borderlands you can't just activate one ability and CC or wipe everything within 50 meters, and as long as we can do that, I also fail to see how you create meaningful "challenge".

We are not playing Call of Duty, we are basically playing a Tower Defense game most of the time, and in that game type, wiping hordes of enemies is the core game play, not running "missions", so unless the direction of this game changes a bit, you will never get the level of challenge you are asking for.
