I look forward to the day when the Plains of Eidolon (3km X 3km) is referred to as "the small map".

Steve is confusing a lot of people... even himself.

We need him to drawn a square and put the measurements on the sides at this point.

Yeah, I agree, now I'm confused too. On Tenno Live he said 3km2, on Twitter 3x3km, some people believe he said 9km2, so I guess I'll just wait a few months for the official update notes. xD

When asked on Twitter Steve clarified that it's 3x3 kilometers; so 9km^2.

Can you even math.

3x3 km = 3km^2

By 3x3, Steve means 3(km)x3(km). Please stop perpetuating this 9km^2 notion.

For a moment I thought so too, but isn't it 3km x 1km = 3km^2 ?

That would indeed mean that 3km x 3km = 9km2.

Wh...What?

        1       2        3  Km

1   [  1 ]  [  2  ]  [  3  ]

2   [ 4  ]  [  5  ]  [  6  ]

3   [ 7  ]  [  8  ]  [  9  ]

Three kilometers wide by three kilometers long, as in three kilometers squared is 9 square kilometers.

Or is everyone running into more misunderstandings about who's talking about "square kilometers" and who's talking about "kilometers squared" again?

Somewhere along the line, there's definitely been a misunderstanding. I blame the education system.
